this is the board that the administrators will update as often as we find necessary based on what's going on with the site. each month we will do spotlight voting, which will take place here. along with voting, we will also post anything we feel you need to know. whether it's a site wide event, a change occuring, or possibly even a problem, here is the place to check for it. keep your eyes out for everything posted here. especially the activity checks.

this board is for you guys, the members. we do the best we can to make the site what we think you want it to be, but for all we know, we fail! so here you can tell us what we can do to make the board better for you. maybe you'd like a certain board, or you have an idea that you think would do well on the site. no matter what it is, post it here, and the admins will check it out as soon as possible. if criticizing, please make it constructive!

once an admin has looked over your application and accepted you into the members, we will sort your application here. the first thing you should do after your application has been moved here is post in the claims, we suggest you don't even start roleplaying without doing so. because stolen faces are never fun!

today, everybody and anybody has a cell phone. home phones are so 1990; today it's all about who has the thinnest touch screen. you can phone a friend, or pull a joe jonas and break up with your girlfriend via text. though we advise you not to, you're free to do anything you like with them.

this is the only board on the whole site other than that instant messaging and cell phone board where you can post below the word minimum. if you're in the mood for a short thread, and can't muster up enough muse for a 800+ word post, you're welcome to do a mini thread here. we aren't saying one liners are welcome, because they are from. but a couple of substantial paragraphs will do!

away from downtown, there is still rich history in culture in new orleans – in fact, many argue this is where the culture comes from. historic neighborhoods like holy cross and gentilly terrace sit on some of the highest ground in the city. these once rural areas live today as the starting ground for the neighborhoods that now surround them. this area was most affected by katrina and still has not been rebuilt fully. probably one of the most dangerous areas ever. vampires lurk for those people who seem like they don't matter & they come here.

like so many american urban centers, new orleans’ central business district used to be a ghost town after work, but not anymore. evenings now bring crowds to historic lafayette square for free concerts. the orpheum, home to the louisiana philharmonic orchestra, and numerous smaller theaters and cabarets come to life for nighttime performances.

today’s marigny is still cosmopolitan, a singles friendly and artist-friendly neighborhood where people from all over the world have chosen to make their home. beautiful creole and classic revival cottages that stood abandoned after residents left for the suburbs in the 1950s have been restored and painted in rich golds, brick reds and moss greens. now it's becoming part of the warehouse district where many vampires live.

the french quarter, also known as vieux carré - or the “quarter” to locals, sits on a crescent in the mississippi river on some of the highest ground in New orleans. not only is this is city’s cultural hub, but is a community where residents take time to reminisce with neighbors about times gone by and to welcome visitors in the streets. with vampires making more of a presence the government has made new curfew laws for people being around the quarter.

fangtasia started off in shrevport as a bar for the "abnormal" or the rotten apples as you could call it but once vampires were in the public eye, it was known as the there watering hole. starting out in shreveport, the bar has become to sprout out all over the nation with the second location being in new orleans.

st. louis cathedral, located in the historic french quarter, is the oldest continuously active roman catholic cathedral in the united states. it was originally built in 1724 and rebuilt twice after a hurricane and a fire. the present church overlooks beautiful jackson square and was dedicated in 1794. it is now the headquarters of the fellowship of the sun members.

dubbed as frenchmen street's best-kept secret, the cozy apple barrel bar offers live jazz or blues every night of the week. the bar's acoustics are so good that some local artists have actually recorded here. mostly the crowd is full of the locals, the not so pleasant locals they don't include in the come to new orleans brochures.

one block over from the raucousness of bourbon street is the french quarter’s more refined and elegant epicenter of local artistic culture. royal street is an eye-pleasing mix of classy antique shops and boutiques, fine jewelry stores, colorful art galleries and world-class hotels and restaurants. it is no wonder tourists and locals alike flock to royal street.

maries is filed with voodoo merchandise from around the globe for the serious practitioner or the Novice explorer. Wonderful african and brazilian masks and fetishes for sale as well as voodoo saints and catholic saint statues, rosaries, incense and voodoo dolls and kits and books. If you are planning on visiting the tomb of marie laveau you may pick up a perfect offering here first-cowrie shells, candles or that special something that calls you to her. You will want to look at the wonderful displays about voodoo. after the vampires presence became known, marie's house of voodoo is the number one seller of true blood.

although this historic french quarter street has a bawdy reputation due to the burlesque clubs and all-night partying, come experience a whole other side of bourbon street steeped in history, folk lore and beauty that dates back to 1718 when new orleans was founded by jean-baptiste le moyne de bienville. also known as “rue bourbon,” this historic street sits at the heart of the french quarter extending 13 blocks from canal st. to esplanade avenue.
